Like a bird balanced on the edge of a razor blade, singing in the rain, Cockatoo dances on the precipices of the ethereal and the raw, the passionate and the delicate.
Reminiscent of earlier 4AD bands, Cockatoo is a trio consisting of songwriter Robyn Bright on vocals and guitars, Leonardo Gonzalez on drums, and bassist Rod Wolfe.
With the growing support of the music underground, Cockatoo's 'Otto's song', 'Unrequited' and 'White Picket Fence' are enjoying a varied and diverse rotation in ecclectic locations such as UK, Germany, South America, France, Ireland, Prague, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Japan and North America.
Their audience is genre-diverse. They have received joyous post-show grins from punks to rockabilly's, death rockers, goths and indie hipsters.
Although the current recording (e.p) is a demo, (produced and engineered by former Cockatoo drummer Alan Levesque). The band currently currently has a CD in the mixing stage with Ian Martin. Expected release, Fall 2008.
